Bill, I find birdsong equally uplifting. Many a day I sit on the porch and listen to the songbirds hopping about in our olive tree. This week I was hit by the Covid virus, and the birds were the only thing that elevated my mood. Well, the birds and some Joni Mitchell music.
Hoping you continue to find those small delights that elevate your spirits.
Feeling sadness for you and for your family. Your willingness to be vulnerable, to share your process taking us with you has been inspiring in ways you cannot know. Hoping that you and your family are equipped with the strength, understanding and love of one another to move through whatever lies ahead.
Birdsong refreshed your spirit; that's powerful but even stronger is your will to keep hope alive and persevere, Bill! But it's okay to be weary. Your body has been fighting the evil of cancer for some time and it's hard work. I hope your "code name" treatment is doing its part!
Thank you for the care that you take to choose beautiful art that fits your writing. Do you have images or artists in mind or search on the Internet? Blessings! Maria
Thank you for allowing us to accompany you on your journey, Bill. All I can feel is gratitude for your courage and dedication. You've helped us all know more about the voyage we all must make. It's immensely healing.
Thank you for continuing to share your wisdom even though you are in such a difficult spot. I hope you feel better. Your words resonate with the wisdom of Amartya Sen about the true value of a life and the beauty of human experience in every moment.
To Everyone: Thank you so much for your support.
I am and was weary, but I have had several days of rest. That and your love has helped so much.
My friend and colleague Michelle sent me this!

Thank you so much, Brian. I am trying to identify birds but in Ontario they will not stay in one place. So tomorrow, I will looking for lichens.
'will look for'
May God walk with you as you have strived to walk with Him.
Thank you, Chaim.
"If the locomotive of the Lord runs us down,
we should give thanks that the end had magnitude.
We must admit there will be music despite everything.
We stand at the prow again of a small ship
anchored late at night in the tiny port
looking over to the sleeping island: the waterfront
is three shuttered cafés and one naked light burning.
To hear the faint sound of oars in the silence as a rowboat
comes slowly out and then goes back is truly worth
all the years of sorrow that are to come." J Gilbert
